The 1785 Inn

1785 Inn was built by a veteran of the Revolutionary War, granted this scenic land for distinguished service. Original hand-hewn beams, corner posts and fireplaces are still featured in the Inn. In 1800’s artists painted the view, helping spur a major wave of tourism. The breath-taking view remains much the same today, said to be the 7th most photographed nature scene in the U.S. and selected “one of the top 15 views in the world from a hotel or inn.” 1785 Inn has received numerous accolades for spectacular views, comfortable lodging, cross-country trails, gardens, holiday decorations, delicious breakfasts, friendly service…
