Mt. Washington Valley, NH --- Visitors traveled from around the country to the Mt. Washington Valley of New Hampshire to sample sweet and savory cookie treats while enjoying the holiday decorations, hospitality and tours of 15 inns featured in the 12th Annual Inn-to-Inn Cookie Tour, December 13 - 14, 2008. For the second year, gingerbread creations were included in this event, with businesses throughout the area constructing fabulous fully-edible holiday scenes dedicated to non-profit organizations of their choice. Votes were cast by tour goers for their favorites which included multiple votes for each one.
The winners of the 2008 Cookie Tour Gingerbread Contest were:
First Place: The American Heart Association was the receiving charity of this gingerbread construction displayed at Eastman Inn on Route 16 in North Conway, NH created by Sherry Brault.
Second Place: Angels and Elves was the receiving charity for this gingerbread structure created by Ruth Ann Smith and displayed at Old Red Inn and Cottages on Route 16 in North Conway, NH.
Third Place: Jen's Friends was the receiving charity for this gingerbread structure sponsored by North Country Graphics and created by Annie Laurie Miller on display at Riverbend Inn on Route 16 in Chororua, NH.
Tour participants who visited all 15 participating inns received a collectible brass ornament, the third in a series, and became eligible for the drawing for a Country Inns in the White Mountains gift certificate.
